Lycée professionnel Ferdinand Buisson is a State vocational school and was created 54 years ago. There are over 75 teachers and 600 students for the current school year, among whom SEN and migrant students enrolled in various branches of studies. Ferdinand Buisson is a vocational school, located in the city centre of Ermont, in the north-western suburb of Paris. It holds a strategic place in the Val d’Oise region: it is close to the main local railway station, France’s capital city (Paris), to an international airport (Roissy Charles de Gaulle), to 3 major Parisian train stations (Gare St Lazare, Gare du Nord or Gare de l’Est). This proximity provides our students with a rich national European and International professional environment which motivates them to develop communicational skills. Students are taught both vocational and academic subjects. We recruit them throughout the Val d’Oise region. They are from varied social, ethnic or religious backgrounds which brings a diversity, favorable to exchanges, tolerance and open-mindedness. They attend courses in one of the following domains: – Fashion, graduating with either a “Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnel” or with a “Baccalauréat Professionnel” – Dry Cleaning, graduating with a “Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnel” or sandwich courses resulting in a “Brevet Professionnel” – Building, graduating with either a “Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnel” in Thermal Installation or with a “Baccalauréat Professionnel” in Building or in Metalwork, – Services, graduating with either a “Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnel” in Sales or with a “Baccalauréat Professionnel” in Customers Services, in Commerce or in Administrative Management. We join this programme because European openness is also a natural complement to our educational offer. We propose it to all our students entering our school to discover European cultures, to improve their communicational skills. We provide European work placements to students willing to expand their vocational knowledge or skills in European companies. This experience broadens their horizons, raises their cultural awareness and validates their vocational studies. The two mentioned key persons will be in charge of the future project. The Erasmus+ team is also composed of other collaborating teachers who will take over the leading role of the project in case one or both key persons leave the project. Thanks to their past experience in European cooperative projects (Comenius, Leonardo, Euroscola, Lefèvre, G8, Ecole Ambassadrice, KA1 VET Erasmus+), our European team has developed expertise and hence grown familiar with organizing mobility, preparing work-based activities, communicating in English with foreign schools. The school Board (the school-head, deputy head and bursar) support European projects but also help to organise the implementation, the promotion and the dissemination of European project activities in and out of school.
